PARCO next NEXT has always been known for its eclectic mix of local designers under its wing so when the multi-label store announces a new collection, you just know you’re in for a huge fashion treat.
On October 1, PARCO next NEXT will make available its Autumn/Winter 2013 Collection in which its current batch of designers, which includes 20:TWOTHREE, Alexandria Chen, Evenodd, Lion Earl and Saloni Rathor, has once again shaken things up by defying norms and creating brilliantly innovative works that are sure to set the trend for the local fashion industry this season.
As an added boon, seven alumni designers make their return to PARCO next NEXT for this Autumn/Winter 2013 Collection. Chalk, Coupe-Cousu, Mae Pang, Max Tan, Possi-tilly-ty, Sundays and Veira bring their distinct styles and added expertise to the table this season.
For instance, menswear label Coupe-Cousu takes on light play by casting classic motifs such as herringbone, houndstooth and polkadots onto their clothing pieces; Possi-tilly-ty reveals the transformation of the modern woman into a state of “heightened fulfillment” in their latest Gradual Progression collection; and Max Tan continues his mission of using traditional tailoring methods while featuring block colours in his pieces that contrast and complement each other at the same time.
On the current designers’ front, 20:TWOTHREE inserts a touch of calm into a sea of chaos made up of denims and lightweight knits in their latest collection Order in Chaos. And Evenodd, inspired by their latest collaboration at the Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix where they designed the SingTel Grid Girls uniform, has come up with a collection designed with the vigour and valour of a sports adventurer in mind. Also, whimsical Japanese street brand-inspired Revasseur gives textiles previously used for furniture and curtains a revival, throwing in splashes of gold and glitter to create pieces that are typical of the designer’s unique style.
Look out, too, for bag label Foon Foono’s first foray into menswear, a capsule collection inspired by the mysterious sea creatures of the deep – think massive jellyfish prints that do the beautiful creature’s deep sea colours justice on streamline silhouettes that make great statement pieces.
With the PARCO next NEXT alumni and current designers’ works thrown together into a single collection, the local Autumn/Winter 2013 season is promising to be one of the store’s most exciting one yet!
