With Malaysia boasting some of the world’s most iconic international brands, Jimmy Choo, Royal Selangor and Padini to name a few, it is no wonder Kuala Lumpur is quickly becoming known as a great shopping destination!
Bukit Bintang is the heart of all things retail-therapy related in KL, and is located in the Golden Triangle spanning over 3 roads Jalan Bukit Bintang, Jalan Imbi and Jalan Sultan Ismail.
Although Bukit Bintang is known for its glitzy shopping malls, such as Pavilion KL and Starhill Gallery, we spent much of our time in smaller malls such as Farenheit 88 and Lot 10. It is here where we found some of the most noteworthy local designers and boutiques on this famous shopping strip.
Starting at Pavilion KL, we came across an array of well-established local shops.
Padini Concept Store is a local fashion and accessories retailer specialising in on-trend fast fashion. Their store is located on level 4. At the other end of the floor there is an array of local fashion labels. Brands such as Dressing Paula, Eclipse, Flow, Ms. Read, Subzero Jeans, and The Mod House are all housed here and should not be missed for the latest fashion for all sizes, ages and price ranges.
Across the road, Starhill Gallery houses some of the world’s most luxurious and prestigious brands.
Besides loving the dresses of local designer Khoon Hooi featured on the first floor, we absolutely adored the originality of the red escalators. Don’t they just depict ultimate opulence?!
A little further down the road, on the same side, is Farenheit 88. It is here where you will find dozens of up-and-coming local designer labels. Level 2 is stocked with ‘trending now’ street fashion, as well as quirky home décor and niknaks.
Some must-see brands are Ethnic, Afternoon/Lolita, Zaal Leather, Mirrorcle and A Material.
Further along, on the corner of Jalan Sultan Ismail and Julan Bukit Bintang is Lot 10. Fronted by H&M also houses local designers and retailers like Country Hide, Cassini and Etincelle Couture.
