Singapore-based fashion label DEPRESSION was created in 2006 as a way to combat ‘depression’. Thus creators Kenny Lim and Andrew Loh set out to design pieces that are always entertaining and never depressing.
Typically the collections by DEPRESSION aim to be a combination of artistic graphics and deconstruction to create premium ready-to-wear. And the AW13 collection doesn’t stray from their goal.
The collection, DYSMORPHIA, throws the obsession with body image into the spotlight. Through the use of bold black & white, and stripes, both the menswear and womenswear ranges make the wearer seem smaller than usual.
Cotton, polyester and Lycra have been used across the women’s line (dresses, rompers and separates) and for fashion conscious men (tees, shirts, pants and shorts) making them comfortable and easy to wear. Even some pieces have Swarovski elements in their details to dress them up a little. DEPRESSION sources and uses quality lambskin for its range of leather bags and shoes allowing them to have the most luxurious finish and fit.
AW14 will be available at DEPRESSION Cineleisure Orchard and at their new store at Orchard Gateway (opening November 2013). For more details check out the DEPRESSION website at http://www.depression.com.sg.
