What’s new on Zion Road?

The heat and humidity of Singapore can make strip shopping a tad challenging at times. So in our “ideal shopping world”, we would place water coolers along sideways to make the experience even more appealing. When we were welcomed by thirst quenchers at two new shops along Zion Road, we knew our dream shopping strip was in the making. After experiencing their exceptional customer service, we discovered the unique and desirable homewares and fashion. Then we really fell in local shopping strip love…

These two latest neighbours, The GoDown and Unika, have suddenly tuned a portion of this stretch of road from drab to fab! Extremely easily accessible from Great Work City, once you take a look inside more than one or two pieces will catch your eye.

Learn more about these two impressive local shops, what we love about them and why we will keep going back!

The GoDown

IMG_3319After bursting into the Singapore shopping scene in early 2013, The GoDown grabbed the attention of many as a stylised, contemporary warehouse-like space. The GoDown brings a refreshing collection of homewares, from re-found discoveries to new furnishings.

IMG_3322Founder and interior designer Audrey Lee has sourced unique vintage, classic and contemporary collections from around the world demonstrating, in store, that fusion in one space can work. You will find rare retro and vintage treasures, contemporary décor pieces, kitchen essentials, bathroom accessories, and so many great gift ideas.

IMG_3329The GoDown has been aptly named after warehouse spaces in East Asia designed for the loading and unloading of goods in transition to and from all parts of the world, and that it obviously is!

What’s more, is the huge open and inviting kitchen which is available to hire for group cooking classes! The GoDown will help organise the event, chef and all. The whole set up is so warm and relaxed that you just want to pick up some of the wooden spoons and start mixing away.

The GoDown receives new shipments of homewares, accessories and decorative furnishings on a monthly basis so do bookmark this one for frequent visits.

Open daily 11am-7pm. 44 Zion Road

Unika

While this gorgeous boutique is brand new, Unika is not a new name to Singapore’s local shopping scene. Unika has been an integral part of the local fair and market scene for some time now, so it with great excitement we welcome Unika to the bricks & mortar world.

IMG_3343Unika demonstrates that a fashion boutique can be unique, original, creative! This multi-label boutique sources some of the best local brands from Holland, and Israel. Classic lines from international designers such as Pazit Keidar, Label 88, Hagar Satat, Mal, OM Style and others, create simple, clean and wearable designs. And Unika has brought them to Singapore without the mark-up!

IMG_3335Modern and feminine is the order of the day across the wide range of accessories, bags, and women’s fashion. Each collection displays creative design and fine materials, with details to die for! New stock arriving all the time.

Open 12pm-6pm (Mon-Fri) or by appointment. 42 Zion Road
